From ancient to medieval times, the end of the "Mullein" (Verbascum Thapsus) plant stalks were used to light gatherings, funerals and ceremonies. For those working in the dark including mining prospectors, it provided light in caverns and tunnels. Witches and healers used Mullen as medicine, a light source and to connect with spirits.
1x Witches Torch per purchase. To create these torches I have poured beeswax over the Mullein stalks layer by layer to create these wonderful, rich of history candles for you to enjoy however you desire.
To light, cut the tip of the torch so you can light the "wick" (which is the actual mullein stalk) hold the flame there for a while until some of the exposed mullein plant lights up. The mullein torch will burn about 15 minutes per inch. The flame is quite large and is best to be lit outside for safety (stick the bottom into the ground, soil or sand works best). It is best to burn in one go but if you need to put out the flame, extinguish it by dipping it into water then repeating the process of cutting the tip of the torch when you wish to light it again.
